He holds the distinction of doing commentary in the World Cup of three major sports: Hockey, Football and Cricket. He says that though he enjoys every sports, but Hockey is closer to his heart as their is tremendous pace in the game.
He says that if you want to become a commentator, it is not necessary that you should have too much technical knowledge. Love for the game, control on your voice and good modulation would see you through. He mentions that it is worthy to love the life and live it with honesty.
Sanjay Banerjee says that he prepares for every game but the preparation is not used as it is; rather, it helps the commentator to update himself with things that he wants to include in the commentary.
