The Clever crow
Once a grandma was making vadas. A crow picked up a vada with its beak and reached the tree top to eat it. A jackal came there and designed a plot to snatch away the vada. It said, “Oh crow! You are looking so beautiful. Why don’t you sing a song for me?”
The clever crow moved the vada under its feet and said, “Oh jackal! In the same way once my grandfather shared with me a story how he was cheated by a jackal. I learnt from his experience not to be cheated once again. So, you can never cheat me.”
We must also value the experience and wisdom of our grandparents and learn from them.
சுட்டிக் காகம்
ஒரு பாட்டி வடை சுட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். ஒரு காகம் தனது அலகினால் அங்கிருந்து ஒரு வடையை எடுத்துச் சென்று ஒரு மரத்தின் மேல் அமர்ந்தது. அங்கு வந்த ஒரு நரி தந்திரமாக அந்த வாடையைப் பறித்துச் செல்ல நினைத்தது.
அந்த நரி ஓ காகமே நீ மிகவும் அழகாக இருக்கிறாய் ஒரு பாட்டுப் பாடேன் என்று கேட்டது. அந்தக் காகம் உடனே தன் அலகிலிருந்த வடையை எடுத்து தனது காலுக்கடியில் வைத்துக் கொண்டு சொன்னது.
ஓ நரியே! எனது தாத்தா காகம் இந்த மாதிரித்தான் ஒரு நரியிடம் ஏமாந்து போனார். அவரது அனுபவத்திலிருந்து நான் எப்படி ஏமாறாமல் இருக்க வேண்டும் என்று கற்றுக் கொண்டேன். நான் இனி உன்னிடம் ஏமாற மாட்டேன் என்றது.
நாமும் நமது தாத்தா பாட்டியிடம் கதைகள் கேட்டு அறிவை வளர்த்துக் கொள்ளவேண்டும்.
