Now this would sound grossly intriguing and cynical but this article has been long lurking in my mind. Somehow, I could not take away my mind from the thought that Lakshmi Bai, Jhansi ki Rani, can be projected as the best women entrepreneur modern India has produced. As we discuss her unique traits, her fighting spirit against all odds, and proving almost everyone wrong on various assumptions towards the power of feminine force, you will tend to agree that she had something different in her. She stood out from the rest, led with diligence and shrewdness, and infused new ideas in the society that were believed to be too-naive-to-be-true.
Now, back to our topic.
Lesson 1 for entrepreneurs
Stick to your job if you are not sure about what you want to do as an entrepreneur. Though, sometimes circumstances will push you to take the leap yet it is prudent to assess all the situations beforehand. Jhansi Ki Rani was not at war with the Britishers ab initio. When the people of her city rose against them and declared mutiny, she protected even the English officers and women. However, in retaliation, when British troops moved towards Jhansi, she had to defend the city, being its queen. Once in it, she gave her life for it–never looking back. Once you decide to do anything, put in your 100% for it.
Lesson 2 for entrepreneurs
Use untapped resources. Be unconventional. Be creative. Think out of the quadrangular card-board (box)! This is what Jhansi ki Rani did with great success. No where in the world female power is used when war in on. Conventions say that women and children should be kept away from war. Only men should participate in it. Rani Lakshmi Bai knew she had limited resources and would need to supplement it with women army. She built it; trained the recruits; and used them whenever the need arose. If you have limited resources, tap the hidden potential around you.
Lesson 3 for entrepreneurs
Be foreseeing. Anticipate. Forecast in a realistic way. Build strategies to tackle the future problems. When Jhansi ki Rani and her accomplices took control of the Gwalior Fort, she knew that the British Army would pound on them at least once. The Gwalior Fort was a seat of great command for the English and they held it in high esteem. Losing such a place could never go easy. They sent war veteran Hugh Rose to attack Jhansi in which eventually Rani Lakshmi Bai lost her life. Reason being, her accomplices did not care and did not prepare the strategy to tackle the outcome. Prepare yourself well before the circumstances may overpower you.
