What is Ubuntu
Ubuntu is a community developed operating system based on Linux. This operating system just like MS-Windows can be used for laptops, desktops and servers. Almost all the applications that you might need while working on your computers are included in Ubuntu and there is no charge for using this operating system.
What is Fedora
Fedora, just like Ubuntu, is a linux-based operating system and is free of charge to use. It is also community developed operating system and works well with laptops and desktops.

What is Debian
Debian is a free operating system that works well for laptops and desktops. Debian uses the Linux kernel and many basic OS tools are taken from GNU project and therefore uses the combined name of GNU/Linux. Like other distros of Linux, it is also free of charge.
What is openSUSE
openSUSE project is once again a community based operating system and promotes the usage of Linux. It is also free of charge for the use.
